I went to this unit and the owner keeps a maltese, it kept barking at me

I started to build rapport with him, asking about his dog

I learnt that the maltese's name is ben ben, he is ten

The dog is actually his son's, who passed away when he was 21, from a bike accident

Words..... can never describe his facial expression

He was in pain, missing his son

He was in tears

He said his son left him the dog to keep him company

This is why I like this job

It allows me to build my EQ, to speak to people from all walks of life

Hey, sorry I've not been updating much these days.

Life has been.... pretty eventful recently

But I have faith it will get better

These few days, I've been cooped up at home for some reason and it was an event that scarred me for life.

I never want to recall or witness another thing like that again

Anyway, moving on, my past weeks in pictures.

It's after 12 already.

So, SELAMAT HARI RAYA! :D

Basically, my routine everyday is work, work and work

Sat is my off day which literally meant shopping/gathering day

I promised Dad I'll bring him to buffet town next sat and I shall make good my promise

Generally, most days, sales were good.

But there are times when things aren't working so well but I was never affected.

The truth is, whether you know it or not, your thoughts are responsible for whatever place or situation you are in right now

So, think happy thoughts (:

On my first day out on field alone, this kind lady customer gave me a box of chocolates she made from the RC.

There were truffles and durian chocolates

Taste heavenly

They looked presentable until I put the box in my bag and they fought a war with the files, wallet, hp, water bottle and pens

It's customers like this lady that made my day (:

Another reason to look forward to working is that we are at different parts of Singapore all the time so we get to try out food from all over Singapore.

Haven't blog in a while!

Mainly because I've been busy with my new job?

Nah, I was just lazy LOL

Frankly speaking, I like my job a lot, it allows me to learn a lot and I get recognition so all's good (:

But anyway, here's what I did last sat, I went to Ben and Jerry's chunkfest!

But I was disappointed 'cos the usual NS/ZOO/JBP people weren't there.

Faircoins this year! But it was fucking ex! Two scoops was 11faircoins aka $11! I can buy a pint with staff discount already!

On a side note, this job is a lot about setting goals.

I figured I should write them down somewhere.

My Taiwan trip 2011!

Actually, I didn't want to blog about this trip cos the cam we brought along is not working and we resorted to using Mum's vid cam which she just got and has not tried.

Turned out the quality of the pictures were quite bad so I didn't want to post them up.

Luckily, Mum and bro took some pictures with their phones so the better quality pictures are actually from camera phones!

You know what they say, pictures or it didn't happen.

SO! We took a midnight flight to Taiwan and it was awesome, the sky is littered with hundreds of stars and I got a windown seat (:

Sunrise in Taiwan is much earlier than Singapore's at 5am so we got to watch sunrise in the plane as well.

It was a trip to travel all around Taiwan so we changed hotels everyday.

Taoyuan-Hualien-Chihpen-Kaoshiung-Taichung-Taipei

First day was at Taoyuan and it was free and easy.

I would like to make it a point to tell you that I actually forgot our actual itinerary and I can only try to remember but my memory is SUPER bad lol

We came wayyyyyyy too early at 7am and shops only open around 1pm.

Our first meal was ramen and I didn't like it, it has A LOT of veggies.

Shopped around and I bought quite a few things.

We saw their local 4D place and Mum being typical 4D crazy aunty wanted to try.

We got the scratch cards each.

Mum got some scratch card with God of fortune

I chose Hello Kitty and they were laughing at me say I act cute bla bla bla

Turned out, they won nothing and I won NT1000! That's about SGD40!

Na ni na ni poo poo

Shopped until hungry already but night market not opened yet so we had KFC

I wanted to try their KFC cos I saw their tv advertisement.

They have egg tarts with muachee inside and caramel on top!

Bought a whole chicken to share

Their chicken is roasted and super juicy!

Singapore cannot compare, really

They have corn on cobs for side dishes as well!

And they give you gloves, awesome!

Day 2

Our tour guide came to picked us up and we are going to take the high speed rail!

What is kiss and ride?!

Afterwards, we switched to their MRT

And we reached Zhong Zheng Ji Nian Tang

Then we went over to Yehliu.

Forgot to tell you, this trip is for sight seeing so you will see a lot of sea,rocks,mountains and temples.

Not much time to shop ):

But not to worry! I still bought quite a lot of things haha

The tour guide told us that the authorities planned to build a highway to go up the mountains but the people objected so we had to go up and down, up and down, up and down a lot of mountains

Took us three freaking hours!

At this point of time, we were at Hualien.

Hualien is where the tribe people live and there is nothing but you san you shui

We got a pretty decent hotel that night and we thought of going out to walk around and explore but the people there sleep so early!

8pm and all the shops close

Day 3

Our first stop of the day: Taroko Gorge

Nice place but the weather is killing me!

It got so fucking hot, I swear I'll get a pair of shades

Anyway, we got to try the coffee made from the water there

Not a coffee drinker so no comment

Next stop, Rui Shui Farm

I really like this place a lot

It's the kind of place that I would like to retire in

There are two huge black labradors and you can clearly see they are very happy there

Ya, I think I got braver, I walked around places with dogs whoooo

Honestly, I forgot what we did the rest of the day cos I was lazy to take pictures LOL

Went to buy lingzi

I mean Mum, not me

Day 4

Fo Guang Shan, a very popular and beautiful temple

We are suppose to use coins to hit the bell and pray

Mum missed like 47930829 times and almost used up all our coins LOL

It's the mall with a ferris wheel on the tenth level

Taiwanese are crazy over Rilakkuma!

Bing and Jess will go crazy there haha

We check in our hotel first before going over to Leo Ho night market for dinner

We are super gluttons lor, ate there and da bao back around 8pm, Mum buy back supper to our hotel at 11pm LOL

We da bao banana milkshake, pudding milkshake, guan cai ban, smelly tofu, lu wei, sausages LOL

Mum brought back noodles and fried rice

The trick to buying food night market food is to see if the signboard states "lao dian" or "lao pai"

Day 5

Tea leaves farm!

Sun Moon Lake

A LOT of china tourists there!

I can't be bothered so I just walk past and snap this lady LOL

Our tour guide is super nice, bought pomelos and tea leaves eggs for us (:

The cha ye dan in Sun Moon Lake is very popular, super long queue, worth the wait

And our tour guide queued to get all 36 of us eggs while we were exploring!

Also at Sun Moon Lake, we went to see birds and peacocks

Day 6

We finally reached Taipei!

First stop, Taipei 101!

This is what happens when you hand your cam over to a guy

Lunch was xlb!

We went to National palace museum earlier on to look at the cabbage jade and pork art

Erm, have to know chinese history or go to the museum to understand

We bought stamps there, thinking in the future the price of the stamps will rise LOL

And then to watch the guards changing ceremony

Last stop of the day is Shihlin night market!

We had 1 hr plus to shop only

Bro bought a lot of caps for his friends and shirts and bags for his female friends

I bought bags! Super cheap like eight bucks

I saw the exact bag selling at Scape flea for 25.90 and the lady told me it was on discount LOL

Dinner was free and easy so we went to Ximen Ding

Not a fan of mee sua so I don't really like it

My daily routine goes like this

Breakfast at hotel - lunch - dinner - check in hotel - go out for supper - buy back lu rou fan and vitagen to eat in the hotel room

Day 7

That day was free and easy

A car would come at 3pm to bring us to airport which takes around 45 mins

Something funny happened

Bro bought a lot of caps for his friends from Shihlin and Ximen Ding for like SGD10 each

Just before we are going to the airport, we stopped by a shopping centre and one of the shops is selling caps for SGD4 each and two for SGD6

HAHAHAHAHA, I bet bro's heart bled like fuck

He got two just because

Mum wanted to eat "something good" before we leave Taiwan so we had jap food at Ximen Ding

Actually, that was not our last meal

We had remaining money so we ate at the airport

LU ROU FAN AND XLB!

And we still have money left lol, mainly me and bro

So we bought stamps again LOL

On my actual birthday, I chose to spend it with Crazy Gang.

The initial plan was to have a picnic in Botanical Gardens followed by dinner at Holland Village's 3monkeys cafe and lastly in town for the flea at Singapore Art Museum.

BUT

Suayness gao gao, it rained the entire day!

So we did something very silly, haha.

We had indoor picnic at Mau's!

But everything turned out pretty well.

As long as I'm with them, I'm okay with the change of plan (:

See! We came prepared with all the picnic snacks and food!

I brought potato salad and pasta salad.

I had wanted to make them myself initially but I woke up late, haha!

Our backup picnic venue has hammock please!

Day trip to JB!

Met up 10am to travel across the borders.

Carene is super suay max.

Go out without passport and chop passport the custom officer's computer hang, HAHAHA

We climbed bus railings, had sushi buffet, shopped around, had baskin robins/shihlin xxl chicken/pretzels/churros/ bought donuts back. Yup, you get it. It's all about FOOD!

Real cheap! Like 10 bucks per person but it wasn't nice at all!

We had baskin robbins! There are some promo going on. Show them something you have in pink and you get discounts. We were searching frantically. Black shirt, brown belt, blue short, black flip flops. Nothing in pink!

In a desperate attempt, we showed her my nails which is actually fuchsia but she said okay can! Yay!

The thing I bought. Didn't went on an omfg-jb-so-cheap-must-shop-till-I-drop spree.

But I should have!

Best buy would definitely be the rings.

They were 3 for 10. Carene chose an owl one while I picked a TV ring which was playing doraemon cartoon and a cupcake ring.

We went over Lau Pa Sat to get local food before heading near the floating platform.

Scallops, straw mushroom wrapped in beef, sashimi, appetizers and chawamushi with tons of ingredients in it(mushroom, chicken, prawn)

Mumsie ordered the hot pot, some tempura and sushi.

I went to Paradise Dynasty a few days ago, Aster wanted to try the colourful xiao long baos and I practically will eat anything colourful so I went along.

Eight different flavours. Mainly original(white), crab roe(orange), cheese(yellow), garlic(gray), sze chuan(pink), black truffle(black), foie gras(brown) and ginseng(green).

I would say my favourite is the original one and the cheese one. Not much of the cheese taste but it was pretty obvious that it was slightly saltier than the original one.

Aster's favourite is the crab roe one. It was pretty good, I must say.

The others were generally okay.

But the ginseng one was horrible! The fact that we both hated ginseng was a huge factor. And the smell and taste of it was overpowering to us, we had to drink our soup to down the xlb.

Sze chuan one was pretty alright to me. It was slightly sour and spicy, just right for me but Aster couldn't take it. She said it was too spicy for her.

The garlic xlb came off at first too garlicky for my liking. However, as I munches on, it was pretty good! The taste of garlic slowly fades away and you could taste the broth which was sweet with a hint of garlic in it.

Foie gras one was normal. We couldn't even tell what flavour it was. I had to google it. And I was anticipating to eat this the most ):

We didn't like the black truffle one. The combination didn't work well for us. It was the last one we had.

I had the signature pork broth la mian as well.

It was awesome!

Doesn't look appetizing at first but it was very flavourful.

Aster had some beef lamian in sze chuan soup? I didn't like it, the taste of raw beef was very strong but Aster love it! She loves the smell of raw meat and wants to be butcher lor!

Sexuality

The problem with good old Singapore is that the past generations are pretty traditional and most of them are strictly against the idea of gay people. They find gay people "disgusting" and abnormal but seriously, why judge?

You are not them and will never understand how it feels.

I once read somewhere that this transgender person said "Sometimes I will think to myself late at night, why am I born a boy and not a girl? Why do I have to endure this to be MYSELF, going for surgeries, falling out with family and friends, getting jeered at by the public" Sometimes, it is not within gay people's means, they are just born like that.

I'm not gay so I can't say I fully understand how it feels like to be one but I know it is very hard to be one in any place of the world. In my ex workplace, this guy came out openly gay and he had his cup laced with people's saliva because they find him "disgusting" and his food was prepared with saliva and crap mixed in it and he has to take it all in. Gays have the same rights and should never be treated this way. Never. From then now, I prepared his food every time I was working.

Before you say anything, think of the impact of your words. I always have friends who would nudge me and say "Eh, look at that guy, omfg he is so fat and wearing leopard print leggings and so many rings! He must be gay!" or "Ewwww, two guys holding hands and making out, utterly disgusting!" Don't you ever do it again. Do you have any idea how much it took them to come out in the public like that?!

They might have acted as though they have not heard your words but chances are, they did. It hurts to know that people make such senseless comments to hurt others.

Another thing I don't understand is how so many people are opposing gay relationships. I have this mentality that LOVE IS LOVE, regardless of size, colour, age, wealth or gender. If you look carefully, a gay couple is just like any other normal couple. Look deep in, love has no shape or size or gender. Keeping even a normal relationship between straight people is already hell difficult. What about gay couples? But I have to say that gay relationships are hard to come by but when they do, they last long. They have come a long way to be where they are now so they treasure the relationship more. Do you have any idea how much harder it is? Feeling pressure from friends, family, public and even the internet?

Have you ever thought of why gay people don't usually come straight out of closet? It is because of the consequences. The consequences of getting reprimanded for being gay. Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with it?! I have to emphasize that it is indeed very difficult to come out gay so I, myself, would support the person.

And people go "yeah right, wait till your own children comes out gay" SO? I would be happy for them, that they chose to be themselves instead of being afraid of how people will judge them. I would say I have taught them well. Everyone deserves to be loved. It is okay to be yourself.

I can only say that everyone is beautiful and you just have to look deep in. Those plain janes are usually the most beautiful people. Look around, you would have known what I was saying.

I am not skinny nor pretty but my confidence level is insanely high that no amount of stupid comments or insults could possibly affect me.

Hey guys. Just want to update my stupid, mundane life.

Well, practically nothing much has changed.

BUT. I was in a better mood because I am 2/3 done with this semester.

I hurt my back for a few days already. It's the lower back and I don't even know HOW.

Basically I have to lie down as much as possible and sitting up or moving about hurts a lot.

And I missed school today cos I couldn't get up at all.

Dad says it's the lower back muscle but I don't even have muscles LOL.

Our passports are ready for collection and we are going to get it this Friday ~

I'm also on a saving spree. Must save a lot a lot a lot for Sept trip.

I'm not even keen to go out these days. Staying in saves a lot of money, you know.

I get free lunch and dinner, no transportation money, 24/7 internet connection.

Besides, I've overspent last few weeks.

Met up with Jess and Bing to go the blogshop's clothes buffet.

It's kinda deja vu considering I was at Haji Lane a little while back for the Victoria Jomo's fit all you can.

The queue was a little longer and I was sorely disappointed!

Not much things to take but you know, when you've already paid, don't care, just take!

I couldn't even find a single piece that caught my eye!

But I took two dresses, a hp charm, a hello kitty iphone cover and a box of false eye lashes.

We were only allowed 15 minutes in the shop and guess what, Jess and I completed the entire thing in 5 minutes. Guess that tells a lot -.-

Guess it did make my money worth but still, Victoria Jomo win hands down.

Don't understand. Event started at 1pm we were there at 2 but the things all almost gone. Pity those we go at 6pm LOL.

Afterwards, we were STARVING.

They had pepper lunch while I got bbq chicken wings rice.

Best thing is, we took a train, got more food and went down to Carene's to eat AGAIN! Haha!

Steamboat as usual and we had durian ice cream.

We had an argument. Lychee or longan nicer.

Flea market at scape and I initially was just looking around, not intending to buy anything and this bag caught my attention. It was a clutch/sling and is purple/silver/black/green leather material and the picture didn't do it justice at all.

I casually asked for the price and I thought I heard 50, started walking off.

But this ang moh told me he'll deal for 12.

That's when I realised it's suppose to be 15, LOL.

The bag is from Nichii so I thought "why not?!"

And I totally hate Zac!

He keeps telling me this bag/ring/shoe suits me a lot a lot a lot!

But I restrict myself from buying more because I'm going to the blogshop's clothes buffet at Haji Lane the next day.

Was succeeding. Even the new Forever 21 at Orchard Exchange didn't get to me.

But I walked past Rubi and they are selling wedges for FIVE FUCKING BUCKS!

When you see wedges for five bucks, you don't think, you just buy!

Some new shop opening at scape were giving out free goodie bag.

Zac took one and I didn't cos I was on the phone.

I forced him to go back take one for me LOL.

Got Papa a light cheesecake for Father's day this year.

The whole family don't like chocolate cake.

I think it's really cool especially when all our birthdays falls on August.

Papa prefers to eat at home, all the more on special occasions like Father's day.

So he suggested buying back dinner for us so we could have dinner together.

This is what my lazy hamster do all day long. And at 4am, she turns super hyper active. Truly nocturnal.

Just cleaned her cage the other day cos she is a very very young hamster, her poo is not even the normal size. And she loves to poo on the wheel and run in it -.-

Made the wheel very dirty, have to clean it everyday.
